Two-factor authentication is great until you can't access your authenticator. Backup codes provide emergency access when your 2FA device is lost, broken, or unavailable. Each code works once and never expires-your insurance policy against lockout.<\/p>\n","feature_full_description":"

Backup Codes are that plan. During 2FA setup, Stack Guard generates 8 unique codes. Each code:

\n\u2022 Never expires
\n\u2022 Bypasses 2FA requirement
\n\u2022 Is logged when used<\/p>\n

Print them. Store them in your password manager. Lock them in a safe. Just don't lose them.<\/p>\n

When you need one, enter it in place of your 2FA code. The code is consumed and can never be used again. When you're down to your last few codes, Stack Guard will remind you to regenerate a fresh set.<\/p>\n
